On the August 18, 2022, representatives from Caterpillar Inc. and their subsidiary Solar Turbines Slovakia s.r.o. visited TUKE on a visit hosted by prof. Ing. J. Porubän, PhD, Vice-rector for development of foreign relationships. Guests included Marco Leon, Vice President of Digital Applications; Tony Belkin, Caterpillar Vice President of Digital Platforms; Daniel Reaume, Senior Manager of Data & Analytics; Stinson McElhinney, Global Technology Manager; Marek Uhrín, Managing Director of Solar Turbines Slovakia; and Vedran Houdek, Software Engineering Manager.
TUKE welcomed the delegation with an overview of TUKE’s academic and scientific activities in information technologies and data analytics. The guests also had an opportunity to visit the unique facilities of the OpenLab laboratory, where research on intelligent spaces and smart virtual assistants is conducted.
The visitors also learned about the activities of the USP TECHNICOM in the field of technology transfer and innovations and listened to the presentations of two startups, CEELABS and Nordics, with great interest. They were impressed by the maturity of the presented projects, with hopes to learn more in the future.
