It was an excellent chance to share the best practice from each institution. Not to mention the transfer technology system in their home country. 

A university is a knowledge holder; therefore, it is essential to know how to transfer technologies. How to develop innovations into business with proper patent law and copyright protection. More to it, there is the idea of spin-offs and how to get involved as a public institution. The pros and cons of such a company. Many questions were directed to partner universities and many answers were well received.

The meeting has been very profitable, the feedback was well noted, further steps set and we cannot wait to see the following results.

From 19-20 February 2020 the Technical University in Kosice (Slovakia) hosted the 4th Annual Meeting of the EU project “SME 4.0 – Industry 4.0 for SMEs”. The event, which took place at the Technicom University Science Park in Kosice, gave professors, researchers, PhD students and industrial partners the opportunity to exchange ideas on topics related to the introduction of Industry 4.0 in small and medium-sized enterprises. For two days technologies, methods and strategies were discussed on how to implement Industry 4.0 in an effective and sustainable way in SMEs. The meeting, excellently organized by Prof. Vladimir Modrak and his team, gave the participants not only the opportunity to discuss important scientific topics, but also to get to know Kosice and Slovakia and was thus a cultural enrichment for the whole project team.

Invited to the plenary lecture was one of the researchers of the project O. Kainz, who presented the outputs of the research and outlined the possibilities how to utilize the MIDIH collaboration platform, which was used in the implementation of the research, as well as the MIDIH architecture of the implemented software-hardware solution. The lecture was followed by an expert discussion in which the possibilities of extending the prototype solution for monitoring and adjusting the internal environment of the experimental greenhouse were considered.

The information day was led by Assoc. Prof. Anton Lavrin, PhD., he introduced the participants to the project and informed them about the possibilities of joining the call. After his part, Miroslav Michalko, PhD. joined the discussion, he was responsible for mentoring subjects from the first call.
